Blending Beauty, Functionality and Well-being
Residential interior designer and color consultant
I’m an IACC-certified color consultant and interior designer specializing in atmospheric spaces with soul. A Brit based in San Diego, I love timeless interiors, heirloom-worthy furniture, quirky accents, and nature-inspired palettes that evoke a sense of place.
As a rule, steer away from trends in favor of craftsmanship, authenticity, storytelling, and details from a life well-lived. These crucial elements, along with the freedom that comes from following your own sense of style, give a home heart.
Having enjoyed a lifetime of travel, living and working in diverse cultures, and absorbing architecture, motifs, and colors, I appreciate the eclectic nature of homes and enjoy the challenge of unifying seemingly disparate ideas. I want to help you create a space that reflects you. A home fit for life while being beautiful, comfortable, welcoming, rich in meaning, and good for your health and well-being.
Snapshot: How I got from there to here
Europe
Growing up in the UK, I developed a fascination with period houses and cottages for the stories they held within their walls. Full of lives, loves, and losses. Some were cozy, others dramatic and regal, but each had a palpable sense of history and promise, amplified by the moody blue quality of the Northern light.
Captivated, I pored over interiors magazines at houses I couldn’t possibly afford, marveling at impeccably-made furniture and artisan textiles. A seed had been sown. I was hooked.
At art college, I was drawn to the history of design. I studied everything from the Bauhaus and Art Deco to the Arts and Crafts Movement before reading Art History and Architecture at university and interning at Homes & Gardens magazine in London.
Asia
Desperate to travel, I moved to Hong Kong in my early twenties, which hit me in a rush of color, sounds, exciting new flavors, and sizzling heat. A heady mix of architecture and design spanning traditional and modern with super-lux interiors, bohemian bars, and edgy street styles.
I sifted through antiques in Macau, with its pastel-tinted Portuguese colonial buildings, ogled the city’s soaring towers and sparkling panoramas, and hiked through lush, green hills on nearby hippie islands.
America
Sunny Southern California has been home since 2009. For me, it’s straight out of a movie with its ‘glossy yellow’ school buses, vibrant surf culture hues, bold Polynesian prints, and the iconic ‘International Orange’ of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. A seriously eclectic mix of architectural styles, from mid-century modern to Spanish colonial and desert-scape. The vibe is fresh, bright, and airy, with interiors to match.
I’m drawn to the ocean, of course, and its myriad shades of green, blue, gray, and brown, and love nothing more than exploring on year-round swims. SoCal is a place where colors positively sing in the golden light, from the vast cerulean skies and fiery September sunsets to ochre sea stars and giant green sea anemones.
For a while, I worked in the luxury travel space for a global brand and a small African safari company. It was my first time encountering impossibly gorgeous lodges in far-flung places. Brands like Singita, whose design team consistently delivers high-impact glamor while prioritizing a sense of place and sustainability, really spoke to me. It’s hard not to be impressed by their vision, creativity, and commitment to biodiversity, community, and intuitive hospitality—it’s something I took to heart.
The US, in all of its diversity, is just the latest rich seam of inspiration from a color journey that has spanned continents and cultures, and in many ways, is only just beginning.

“We all have emotional responses to our surroundings. Nowhere is this more important than in our homes.”
